GlennF. Posted May 18, 2008. If seat height is your first issue, the KLX250 and the WR250R are about the same. The XT250 is quite a bit lower. The KLX is more choked down stock than the WR but both bikes have better off road suspension than the XT. The XT can be modified the same way as the prior model XT225 for more power.

Posted June 20, 2008. 7,500 miles (12,000 km) for first valve adjustment and sucessive adjustments after that. I'm sure not going to wait that long! If you ride it in the dirt, I'd be checking a KLX (250 or 300) every 500 miles - AFTER the first 3000. Valves on dirt bound KLX's tend to last 3-4000 miles on average.
